12 LangHAM Court

Our beautiful butterfly hog was named after Mrs Langham a relative of the owners of both nursing homes (the Hoare family) who was also the inspiration for the creation of Langham Court our Dementia nursing home.

As Dementia Care Matters is all about the butterfly approach our hog had to be decorated in butterflies, so everyone was given the opportunity to colour a butterfly and sign it.This was an incredible community effort and really brought everyone together☺. The result was amazing and we had butterflies created by people between the ages of 1 to 85.
The founder of Dementia Care Matters, David Sheard also coloured a butterfly for us and this takes pride of place on the front of LangHAM’s head.

There is something very special about seeing children and adults alike searching LangHAM’s back for the butterfly they coloured and the excitement on their faces when they find it.
