22 The Blue BOAR
The Blue BOAR was inspired by a Crown Derby China Badger that belonged to my wife.
I used car body spray paint for the base coats and metallic acrylic for the top. The idea is to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary, showing the inner 'True Colours' of the farmyard pig.SPONSORED byLimelight Accountancy LtdDISPLAYED :

ARTIST DETAILSNick Ashman
Born in London in 1952, Nick's initial fascination began with studio pottery in art class. This, combined with spatial awareness and understanding of human figure dynamics developed in the life drawing class, combined to set him on his creative path and lifelong study of the figurative image.
During the 1990's he exhibited widely being represented by Galleries in London, the Cotswolds and Surrey and as an active member of the Surrey Sculpture Society exhibited works in the Sculpture Trails in Wisley, Savill Gardens, Polesden Lacy & Borde Hill Gardens and at the excellent App Art Show in Godalming.
Having worked in a Master Class with Mark Corath, Nicks interests expanded to animals and portraiture. The inspiration has always been to capture the essence of the character and movement and this together with his exquisite skills that make his work so individual, intricate and beautiful.
He has recently turned his hand to Portrait painting.
